Each of us seeks other people we can get to know and have fun with. At Hillside Church the discipleship groups ministry desires to be the primary avenue enabling people to connect with others and to grow closer to God.
At Hillside, we value shared discipleship – the act of reading and studying scripture together in order to hold ourselves and each other accountable to God’s continued teaching. We believe that the Holy Spirit has given everyone the gift of reading and interpreting scripture (often called the priesthood of the believer), but also that we can abuse that gift when we do not receive the counsel of others’ interpretive perspective. Shared discipleship also allows us to pray with and for one another.
There are discipleship groups for adults of all ages and for high school youth as well. Updated information on our current groups may be found in each Sunday’s bulletin.
