At Hillside Church, elders have three primary responsibilities. First, elders pray for the church–for all members and all ministries. Second, elders provide care to all individuals in the church. Elders are assigned responsibility for a group of families and individuals, and they are expected to be familiar with their lives and provide the ministry of care as they need it. Third, elders work with the pastors and deacons to oversee all ministries and events in the life of the church.
Alan Stiles, chair
The deacons of Hillside Church partner with the pastoral staff to provide guidance in finance, personnel, and other needed areas. They are the church administrators. Appointed by the elders and affirmed by the congregation, they oversee the operations and manage the resources of the church. They also oversee the church finances and plan the annual budget.
