August 27, Speaker: Rev. Beth Roberts
Beth Roberts (MEd, MDiv) taught elementary students both as a classroom teacher and as a resource person for academically gifted. She and her husband, John, are members of Hillside Church and have lived in this community for close to 40 years. While working as secretary of Hillside Church, Beth enrolled in seminary and graduated in 2010 from Campbell University Divinity School. Following chaplaincy training at Alamance Regional Medical Center, she served as associate chaplain at Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community in Raleigh until her own retirement in 2016.
We make many choices every day—what food to eat or clothe to wear, how to use our time at work and at home. We also choose our attitude towards life. In this seminar session, we will discover how choosing to be grateful helps us have a healthier body, a happier mind and better relationships. We will also explore some gratitude practices that will increase our joy in life and lead to greater peace.
